How to save money on your...
Saving money is so hard.
Or is it?
I Googled "How to save money on your..."
And then I stopped.
And a bunch of options came up ready for me to select:
How to save money on your electric bill...
How to save money on your wedding...
How to save money on your heating bill...
How to save money on your gas bill...
How to save money on your water bill...
How to save money on your grocery bill...
How to save money on your cable bill...
How to save money on your taxes...
How to save money on your phone bill...
How to save money on your energy bill...
Are you kidding me!
How did we live in the Dark Ages before Google?
But then again..how many are using the power of the Web to get smart about money, change behaviors, and make better decisions.
So I decided to check it out by clicking on
"How to save money on your electric bill..."
and then I found this article,
"Slash your electric bill in 6 easy ways"
Among other things it linked to Energyideas.org suggesting...
- Unplugging unused appliances (I though to the old freezer in the garage),
- Lowering the temperature on the water heater (yea, my showers actually border on uncomfortably hot),
and
- Washing only full loads of dishes and drying them all (with eight kids, I don't have that problem!)
And more...
My take? Not bad advice for 5 minutes of research.
So America...let's stop complaining about how bad things are until we are really sure we're not blowing money to begin with.
We've been consumers with an emphasis on CONSUMPTION, but we need to have a SCARCITY mentality as a way to more ABUNDANCE!
